Sheldon Arthur Steward Bunting

General Notes:
Son of Sir Percy Bunting. Born 29.5.1882. A civil engineer educated at Rugby and Christ's College, Cambridge. The London Gazette 8.6.1915 lists him as a pending second lieutenant in the infantry. However most of his career was in India where he started on construction contracts for hydro-electric schemes for Rajahs. He later designed the main drainage for New Delhi. Author of various engineering papers and a short book, "The development works at Sambhar Salt Lake, Rajputana, India" published by the Institute of Civil Engineers, London in 1925. When in London he would attend concerts and, on returning home, render note perfect what he had heard, on the piano. He donated £100 each for the education of his brother's children. Outlived Sidney Percival and died circa 1940, probably in India
