Walter Stanton Frederick Hose
- Born: 3 Oct 1859, Camberwell
- Marriage: Emily Griffiths Sep Q 1887 in Bromley
- Died: Jun Q 1932, Croydon, Surrey aged 72
General Notes:
He served in the navy but I do not know in what capacity. When he left the navy he worked in a kitchen, so he might have been a ships cook. I have no real idea but when his wife died he was capable of bringing up six children single handed. A very strict man who ruled them with the proverbial rod of iron. I can only just remember him as a doting grandad upon whose lap I could climb and pull on his pointed waxed moustache. He was fervently patriotic, there was a flagpole in his tiny front garden up which the union jack would be raised on Empire Day or on any royal occasion, and he never failed to stand to attention wherever he was if the national anthem was played.
