William was married as William Elstone (and gave his father's name as George Elstone); and his first four children were registered in the name of Elstone.After moving to Camberwell, his fifth child was registered in the name of Elston,and the family used that spelling thereafter: so the name was spelled in the census returns of 1881 and 1901, and all the children married and registered their children in the name of Elston.
