Philip's birth cert is signed by his father (very badly). There is a poorlaw application made by the police on behalf of Philip and advises that he was forcibly removed by the police from the poorhouse and sent to an institution. The application refers to the family and is cross referenced with their application which is missing. There was a further application made by Philip in 1901 - this application is also missing. (doh!) This record is held by the National archives and has still to be retreived.
