Nathaniel John Dampier

Occupation General surgeon
Educated at Guy's Hospital, and was a successful operating surgeon at the Islington Dispensary. He also lectured on surgery at the Hunterian School of Medicine. A few years before his death he was practising in London as a consultant when his health gave way, and he retired to Bath, but found his condition growing steadily worse. A few days before his death he returned to London in order to obtain further medical assistance, but was suddenly seized with erysipelas and died in a few hours. His death occurred on April 26th, 1857, at Bryanston Street.

Nathaniel married Ann Pratt in 1845 in Westminster. (Ann Pratt was born in 1828 in St James, Westminster and died Q1 1902 in Hampstead, London.)
