Ernest married Marion Kendall, daughter of Sam Hart Kendall and Annie Clegg, on 11 Apr 1925 in Eastbrook Hall and Schools, Bradford. (Marion Kendall was born in 1905 in Bradford, christened on 21 May 1905 in Holy Trinity, Queensbury, West Riding, died on 6 Jul 1995 in Bradford, Yorks and was buried on 12 Jul 1995.)
