"Mr C. S. Tomlin has been advised 'that his son, Gunner A. 'Tomlin, was severely, wounded in the left arm on "Sept. 26, arid. has been admitted to (hospital in Wales. Gunner Tomlin fleft New Zealand at the outbreak of war and proceeded to England, -where he. joined the Royal Field Artillery. He: is the third of Mr Tomlin*s sons to be wounded"

"Private H. Tomlin, son of Mr C. S. Tomlin, Blenheim, was admitted to hospital on August 26th suffering from wounds received in action. Mr Tomlin's family has a noteworthy record of service. Three other sons are still serving, and one has been discharged from the Australian Forces disabled through service— making in all five sons with the colors during the war
