On 25 January 1905, Charles William Hemphill Hall, Bandmaster of the 2nd Life Guards, was commissioned, being the senior Bandmaster of the Household Cavalry following the retirement of Charles Godfrey the previous year. Charles Hall was born in 1858 and was appointed Bandmaster of The Royal Dragoons in] 884, moving to the 2nd Life Guards in 1896. Hall died in 1922 in the rank of Major Charles married Nellie Ann Webb, daughter of Humphry Lukin Webb and Sarah Pole, in 1886 in Dundalk, Louth, Ireland. (Nellie Ann Webb was born about 1867 in Ashton under Lyme, Lancashire and died on 18 Jun 1926 in 20 Bath Road, Chiswick.) |
