This will is in very bad condition. I have transcribed as much as is readable. FROM THE WILL OF WILLIAM YELLAND DATED 16 AUG 1677. PROVED 8 NOV 1679: In the of God Amen the sixteene day of August one thousand six hundred seaventy and seaven, I William Yelland of the Pish of Saint Stephens in Brannall in the County of Cornwall yeoman, being sick of bodye yett blessed be God pfect in memory and considering my latter end and the shortness of my tyme and the settellment of those earthly things God hath given mee doe here make and ordaine my last will and testament in manner & forme followinge. IMPRIMIE I give and bequeath my soul unto allmighty God and Jesus Christ my redeemer by whose meritts I hope for a joyfull resurection into blessednesse att the last day. And my bodye to Christian buriall ITEM I give unto my eldest sonne Thomas Yelland twenty shillings. ITEM I give unto my sonne Nicholas Yelland my tenement called Rescrowsa after the seaverall deathes of my brother Henry Yelland and my sister Mary Yelland and not before and alsoe tenn poundes to be paid him twelve moneth after my death by my executor hereafter named. ITEM I give and bequeath unto my sonne William Yelland my tenement in Drinick .... ....... unto ..... of ... and ta.. .... .... .... and not before. ITEM I give and bequeath unto Mary Yelland my eldest daughter my tenement called Little Hensaviston and one littell Downe close here to fore part of Tregascoe Comen ..... first taken to have the same imediately after my .... ..by .eale and not before. ITEM I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Yelland my two litte.. ..... and ....... ....... along with the littell meadow .... all land adjoyning thereunto being part of my tenement called Higher ........... ..... ...... ..... the houses thereof ... ... ..... .... and ...... ... Tregenso to have the same ........ twelve months aft.. ..... death ..... ..... ..... .... wife to be freed of all .... ..... soever sh.... ..... ..... .... be charged ... ...... ..... ...... ...... ..... to be discharged ..... ...... by my executor hereafter named .... that ..... shall be ...... ..ITEM I give ..... Ellenor my daughter twenty pounds & the same to be paid her twelve months .... ..... ...... ITEM I give and bequeath unto my daughter Thomasine twenty pounds the same to be paid when she shall attain unto the age of eight =teene yeares and not before. ITEM I give and bequeath unto my daughter Dorothy twenty pounds the same to be paid her when she attayne unto the age of eighteene yeares and not before. ITEM I give and bequeath unto my wife Rebecka the legacy .... of my tenement called Higher Hensaviston wherein I now dwelleth and if the lives on the sayd Higher Hensaviston dye before my wife Rebecka that then my will is that my sonne Willyam pay her fower pounds per annum: lodgeing firewood & candel =light in Drinick as long as she liveth, and to pay the sume of fower pounds by quarterly payments. ITEM I give and bequeath alsoe unto my wife Rebecka my tenement in Drinick untill my sonne Willyam attayne unto the age of one and twenty yeares and noe longer and my will is that she maynetains these my children Nicholas, Willyam, Ellenor, Thomasine, & Dorothy meal drink and apparrell untill such tyme as these legacies herein first given & bequeathed unto them shall then be due. All the rest of my goods and chattells not hereby given and bequeathed, doe I give and bequeath unto my sayd wife Rebecka whom I doe make her my whole and sole execurtix of this my last will and testament, and it is my will therefore before the sealeing signeing & publishing hereof that if my executrix doe matrimony after my death, that then it is my will that all the goods & chattells soe given & bequeathed to her, shall be to the use benifit and advantage of all those my children, to be equally divided to soe many as shall then be living, and my will therefore is that they pay her tenn pounds yearly by quarterly payements equally to be payd with them as long as she liveth, I revoking all other wills & testaments by me made and I desire she and my children to agree in loud and to be helpfull each to other, sealed signed published and declared with severall interlineings to be my last will and testament whereunto I have sett my hand and seale yeaven ye day & year first above written 1677 Witnesses hereunto the signe of the signe of Phillip Mellow William Yelland Thos.
