Royal Cornwall Gazette 27 April 1872 Death of George Kendall CORNWALL. ST. AUSTELL. FATAL MINE ACCIDENT.\emdash Two miners, named George Kendall, 49 years of age, and Thomas Allen, 15, were on Tuesday drowned at the Blencowe Consols Tin Mine, at St. Stephen's-bySt. Austell, by the breaking into the adit of waters from an old level. The whole of the works below were flooded, but all except the unfortunate fellows named above escaped.
George married Elizabeth Hambly, daughter of Unknown and Hannah Hambly, on 1 May 1847 in St Enoder, Newlyn East, Cornwall. (Elizabeth Hambly was born in 1829 in St Columb, Cornwall, christened on 13 Sep 1829 in St Columb Major, Cornwall and died Jun Q 1899 in Halifax, Yorkshire, England.)
